Strong earnings. Falling stocks. A dividend yield that demands a closer look.

This SPCX, NFLX and NLY earnings review examines three very different setups: SpaceX’s growth story, Netflix’s after-hours selloff, and Annaly Capital Management’s high dividend yield.

The question is straightforward: Where does the reward justify the risk—and where could investors be walking into a trap?

Watch the Market Wrap video below for the chart analysis and the levels I’m watching.

SPCX Earnings Review: Strong Growth, but What Are You Paying?

SpaceX attracted attention with the strong growth discussed in this earnings review. However, a good business report and a good stock entry are two separate decisions.

Before chasing SPCX, I want to know how much optimism the share price already reflects.

A stock can deliver impressive results and still disappoint investors who pay too much. Conversely, a pullback can create a better entry if the underlying business remains strong and buyers defend support.

My approach is to watch the reaction, identify the trading range, and decide where the setup stops making sense. Excitement alone does not define an entry.

NFLX Earnings Review: Buying Opportunity or Warning Sign?

Netflix delivered the sharpest bearish reaction discussed in the video.

The immediate temptation is to call the decline an overreaction. But a falling price does not automatically make a stock cheap.

In the recording, I examine revenue expectations, the outlook, and the possibility that investors are repricing future growth. Then I turn to the chart.

Two reference levels stand out:

  • Around $62.70: A potential support area to watch for evidence of buyers.
  • Around $73.07: A pivot discussed in the bullish reversal scenario.

These are levels from the October 20 recording, rather than live quotes or standing trade instructions.

A sustained recovery above the upper pivot would strengthen the bullish interpretation. A failure to hold support would weaken it.

An after-hours decline alone cannot tell us whether we are seeing a temporary liquidity flush or a more persistent selling trend. The following sessions should provide more evidence.

Until then, patience has value. Hope is not a strategy.

NLY Earnings Review: Look Beyond the Dividend Yield

While many traders focus on the biggest growth names, I’m also watching mortgage REITs.

Annaly Capital Management offers an important lesson: A large dividend yield deserves investigation, but the yield alone does not establish whether a cut is coming.

Annaly’s third-quarter release reported earnings available for distribution, or EAD, of $0.80 per common share. Its declared quarterly common dividend was $0.75 per share.

That means EAD covered the quarterly dividend by approximately 1.07 times. EAD is a company-reported non-GAAP measure; it should not be confused with GAAP earnings per share.

That coverage supports the current payout, but it does not guarantee future dividends. Investors should also examine book value, financing costs, leverage, hedging and management’s outlook.

The distinction matters because a potential dividend cut is a risk scenario—not an announced event in this review.

My contrarian interest is in what happens when fear drives prices lower. However, buying into that fear still requires a valuation case, evidence of stabilization, and a defined risk limit.

Why Light Volume Matters to This Earnings Review

The video also examines a broader market concern: gains in the Dow and S&P 500 accompanied by light volume.

A rising index can look reassuring. Nevertheless, I want to see whether participation supports the advance.

Light volume does not guarantee a reversal. It does give me another reason to demand confirmation before becoming aggressive.

The same discipline applies to individual stocks. A strong headline earns attention. Price, volume and valuation help determine whether it earns capital.

Which Setup Deserves Your Attention?

This SPCX, NFLX and NLY earnings review presents three competing attractions: growth, a potential rebound, and dividend income.

Each comes with a different question:

  • SPCX: Does the growth justify the price?
  • NFLX: Will support hold after the earnings reaction?
  • NLY: Can dividend coverage remain resilient?

Which would you investigate first—and what would change your mind? Leave your ticker and reasoning in the comments.
